HEROLDS BAY
Herold’s Bay is a beautiful secluded little bay just 15km west of George. This seaside village is the ideal holiday destination for the avid golfer or fisherman. Nestled in a rocky cove, the bay is sheltered from the south easterly winds that blow off the coast, making it a favourite destination among holiday makers. Herold’s Bay has a wide stretch of beach perfect for swimming, surfing and fishing, as well as a tidal pool and many natural rock pools to explore.In the area you will find two premier golf courses: Fancourt and Oubaai, where the luxurious Ernie Els signature golf course was designed to maximize the impact of its natural, rugged and beautiful surroundings. There are many exciting walking trails along the coast and into the mountains where one can experience the area’s unique “fynbos. Whale and dolphin watching are also popular activities during the months July – November.
