Simply known as `The Train` by locals, The Santos Express Train Lodge is situated at Santos beach, Mossel Bay in the heart of the famous Garden Route of South Africa.ACCOMMODATION: Enjoy the unique and romantic experience of staying on a real train only 30 metres from the sea on the Indian Ocean side of Cape Town. With double, single and budget compartments, the accommodation has spectacular sea views and hot, clean showers. Guests sleep in a first class compartment or coupè similar to the Trans Karoo. A compartment has 4 beds and a coupè 2, and each coach consists of 2 coupès, 5 compartments, a communal shower (hot/cold) and two toilets. RESTAURANT: The Fork and Train Restaurant and pub has a splendid view over the bay and distant mountain ranges, and is a popular venue for young and old. We see ourselves as being an affordable family Restaurant without compromising on quality. We specialize in seafood and traditional meals, but also serve normal things like burgers, ribs, steaks, breakfasts, and pub-lunches. We also cater for private parties and functions in our Lapa. WEDDINGS & CONFERENCES We now have a fabulous conference room ideal for weddings, birthday parties or business and team building meetings The perfect location for a wedding on the edge of the ocean. Santos Express is the ideal venue for both the ceremony and the reception, making every moment the perfect photo opportunity! Our service is all inclusive from the decorations of the venue and tables, the catering for the function, to the accommodation for the wedding party! Enjoy your honeymoon evening in one of our romantic compartments right on the beach with magnificent views of the Indian Ocean! We can tailor make menus to suit your dietary requirements and your pocket! With professionally-trained staff, we provide facilities for large to small meetings, seminars, corporate events and functions for up to 120 people. The conference venue consists of tables and chairs, with the necessary stationary, water and sweets. Full catering can be arranged if required. A projector, white board and pens can be made available.
