Witsand is situated at the mouth of the Breede River. It is a holiday destination with a difference, situated 300km from Cape Town and 200km from George along the Garden Route.

The Breede River is one of the largest most navigable rivers in South Africa and is rich in diverse species of fish and bird life. It is recognized as one of the best fishing estuaries in the country with tidal action that reaches 60km upstream. The river is also ideally suited to a range of water sports. The rock angler will also have a good catches along the coast line. Fly fisherman will really enjoy this river. Please note that catch and release is strongly encouraged.

Three self-catering cottages all with magnificent views are situated on the banks of the Breede River. All cottages are fully equipped, linen and towels included(bring own beach towels) DSTV is available(bring SIM card with)

NAUTILUS: A modern upmarket accommodation with 4 bedrooms. It has an open plan living area leading out onto a wooden deck with magnificent views. Fully equipped kitchen including dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer, 2 fridges, 2 deep-freezers as well as a fire place for those cold winter evenings. Sleeps 8 – 10.

PERRIWINKLE: A modern 1 Bedroom cottage + sleeper couch. Has an open plan living area with fire place. Outside built-in braai area on a covered stoep overlooking the river. . Sleeps 2-4.

PANSY SHELL: A 3 Bedroom cottage, main bedroom has bathroom en-suite 2nd bathroom consists of a bath basin-toilet plus a shower over bath. Has an open plan living area with fire place. Outside built-in braai area on a covered stoep with river views.
