This beautiful Guest House, built in 1880 as a parsonage, was carefully restored and established as the first Bed and Breakfast establishment in Riversdale. The house is set back from the road with well kept lawns and flower beds while the back garden rolls down to the river with an attractive duck pond. In this tranquil setting guests can enjoy tea in the garden and enjoy the superb view of the Sleeping Beauty mountain peak after which the house is named. Our bedrooms are large, with high, beamed ceilings, wall heaters ensure your comfort in winter and ceiling fans cool the air in summer. Your hosts, Monica and Jinja have lived in many parts of this wonderful country and are happy to advise guests on travel plans in South Africa and the many places of interest within easy access of Riversdale. Delicious full English breakfast or Continental breakfast is included in the rate. Guests are offered the option of a pre-arranged dinner, catering for your particular preferences or we can make a reservation at one of Riversdale's charismatic restaurants. Please contact us for rates. Quadbiking and horse trails can be arranged. Hiking in the Langeberg mountains, with the fynbos and proteas in bloom is an unforgettable experience. Birders will be delighted with the variety of birdlife to be seen in this area. Habitats vary from mountain fynbos to coastal estuary, all within easy reach.
