VLEESBAAI - ACCOMMODATION
The small coastal village of Vleesbaai lies virtually hidden between the bays of Stilbaai and Mossel Bay, just north of where the Gouritz River (of bungee jump fame from the Gourtitz River bridge, 65 metres up) joins the sea at the western end of the Garden Route. It can be reached by paved road about thirty five kilometers from Mossel Bay. Travelling from Mossel Bay to Cape Town along the N2 main route the turn off to the left for Vleesbaai can be found after passing the Petro SA plant on the right. After another sixteen km’s the second turn off for Vleesbaai will be found to the left. The entrance to Vleesbaai is four km’s along this road. Vleesbaai is an idyllic, shell sampling, sun-drenched, beach-filled holiday town in which endless beaches, safe swimming, leisurely walks, dolphin and whale spotting and the nearby Fransmans Hoek Nature Reserve all vie for attention. Vleesbaai is known by surfers as one of the best kept secrets on the coast and, whilst gentle swells provide great body boarding times, waves can reach five feet.
