VLEESBAAI - THINGS TO DO

Whale Watching
South Africa and specifically the Garden Route is one of the best destinations worldwide for watching marine mammals, whether from land or from boat ........ see more

The small coastal village of Vleesbaai lies virtually hidden between the bays of Stilbaai and Mossel Bay, just north of where the Gouritz River (of bungee jump fame from the Gourtitz River bridge, 65 metres up) joins the sea at the western end of the Garden Route. It can be reached by paved road about thirty five kilometers from Mossel Bay. Travelling from Mossel Bay to Cape Town along the N2 main route the turn off to the left for Vleesbaai can be found after passing the Petro SA plant on the right. After another sixteen km’s the second turn off for Vleesbaai will be found to the left. The entrance to Vleesbaai is four km’s along this road.

Vleesbaai is characterised by a rocky coast line towards Fransmanshoek and open sand beach towards Boggomsbaai, Springerbaai and Mossel Bay. It is well protected against reigning winds.

Vleesbaai is a coastal town so things to do in the area include whale watching, fishing, swimming, boating etc.
